Little Genius Academy is considered a healthy childcare zone!

What does this mean?

Every January, we have our school surface decontamination,

terminally disinfected and then coated with a long-term antimicrbial to reduce the chances of new germs surviving.

All chairs and toys will be decontaminated by a special manual and ultrasonic system which removes the debris and biological deposits. All classroom furniture, fixtures, teaching aides and toys will be treated with a broad spectrum, long-lasting antimicrobial to inhibit the survival, growth and recolonization by newly deposited infectious microbes. All bathrooms, changing tables, dining tables, area rugs and six feet up the walls are coated as well.

This means that on the treated surfaces, significantly fewer germs can survive and infect others for at least one full year. It is effective against bacteria, mold, fingus, algae and a number of viruses. This would reduce the opportunity of cross contamination infections.

As freshly deposited microbes come into contact with a treated surface, they are impaled on the coatings molecular structure and along with the Nitrogen charged atom, eradicated.

In addition to this service, if there is an unexpected outbreak of an infection in any room, Sterile Space will be back for an urgent response disinfection service. We also have a professional cleaning service who come in daily, Monday - Friday all year long!

Saftey & Security

The safety and security of each child is our number one priority. We strive to ensure your child is provided with a clean and healthy environment in which to learn and grow.

At Little Genius Academy we use a keyless entry system, limiting building access to authorized staff members and families only. Individual family codes allow unannounced entrance of parents while requiring direct employee assistance for guests and visitors.

You can take comfort in knowing that all major areas of the building including entrances, classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds are equipped with administrator state of the art monitored security cameras. Regular fire and lock down drills add yet another layer of protection to help put your mind at ease.

We provide CPR and first aid training for our staff members. Each classroom has an emergency First Aid kit containing emergency action plans, rescue inhalers and EpiPens as needed.

Hands on learning

Mother Goose Time is a comprehensive, research-based preschool curriculum designed to support and nurture your child’s development across all areas of development, including social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, and creative. Every month, your child will investigate a new theme through games, storytelling, art and music.

Children will love learning as they create art, sing, dance, read books and explore the world around them. Mother Goose Time Curriculum presents many creative and hands-on experiences for children to explore each day. Throughout the process, they will ask questions, problem solve and discover a joy for learning.

Mother Goose Time Curriculum allows your child’s teacher the ability to customize lessons to your child’s skill level and learning style. The result is a safe environment where your child can confidently try new tasks and increase his innate sense of curiosity. All daily lessons and activities are intentionally designed to help your child gain proficiency in the skills needed to support lifelong success in learning.

Parent Communication

We understand the importance of communication so that parents are engaged, informed and connected to their child’s progress and daily routine. We strive to develop meaningful partnerships with families. To develop this relationship, we take time to make families feel comfortable and respected in our program. We involve families in developing a plan for their child, share valuable information about children’s development and progress, and openly communicate, so parents feel engaged and connected. We have an open door policy at Little Genius Academy. Our staff and administration always welcome questions and feedback.

Lunch Program

We also offer an optional catered lunch program, including gluten-free and vegetarian meal options. Paulie G's Deli & Grill in Whippany provides great tasting, nutritious meals for your child by using fresh ingredients that are low in fat and high in vitamins. Hot foods kept hot, cold foods kept cold with a thermal food transporting system. Should you decide to bring lunch from home please keep in mind that we are a nut-free school.

Physical Fitness

At Little Genius Academy, we believe that children learn by doing and moving. We provide ample space for kids to move and exercise their bodies. Our state of the art, fenced outdoor playground offers an opportunity for children to play safely and freely with sturdy, clean playground equipment and soft landing spaces. With New Jersey's unpredictable weather, we like to take advantage of our safe indoor play space too!

Young children are provided with daily opportunities for playground walks in our safe and secure strollers. Newborns that are not quite ready for our strollers travel in Bjorn carriers during outdoor trips.

Little Genius Academy offers weekly enrichment activities such as yoga, music, martial arts, tumbling, sports, and dance classes too!
